1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Hobby's platform (hobbyoslo.no), you accept these terms and conditions. If you do not accept the terms, we ask that you do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
Hobby is a marketplace that connects consumers with local hosts of activities, courses and workshops in Norway. The platform lets you explore activities, reserve places and leave reviews.
3. User Accounts
To use certain features on the platform, you must create a user account. You are responsible for:
- Ensuring the information you provide is correct and up to date.
- Keeping your login information confidential.
- All activity that takes place under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
4. User Responsibilities
As a user of the platform, you agree to:
- Use the service in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Not publish content that is offensive, discriminatory or unlawful.
- Not attempt to circumvent the platform's security systems.
- Give honest and factual reviews of activities you have attended.
- Show up to reserved activities or cancel in good time.
5. Host Responsibilities
Hosts who offer activities through Hobby agree to:
- Provide correct and up-to-date information about their activities.
- Carry out activities as described and at the agreed time.
- Hold the necessary insurance, permits and qualifications.
- Handle reservations and confirmations within a reasonable time.
- Comply with applicable Norwegian legislation, including consumer protection law.
6. Reservations and Payment
Reservations are made through the platform. Payment for paid activities is processed via Stripe, a secure payment solution. Hobby facilitates the contact between user and host.
- A reservation is confirmed automatically when a place is available.
- For paid activities, payment is completed at the time of reservation.
- Free activities require no payment, but the place is reserved.
6b. Cancellation and Refunds
The following cancellation rules apply to all activities on the platform:
- Cancellation more than 24 hours before the event starts: Full refund. The amount is automatically returned to the payment card used at booking.
- Cancellation less than 24 hours before the event starts: No refund. The reservation is cancelled, but the payment is not refunded.
- Cancellation by the host: If the host cancels an activity, all affected participants receive a full refund regardless of timing.
Refunds are processed via Stripe and can take 5–10 business days before the amount appears on your statement.
7. Reviews and Ratings
Users can leave reviews after completed activities. Reviews must be honest, factual and based on your actual experience. We reserve the right to remove reviews that are unfactual, contain personal attacks, or violate applicable law.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the platform, including design, logo, text and source code, belongs to Hobby or our licensors and is protected by Norwegian and international copyright law. Content you upload (e.g. profile pictures, reviews) remains your property, but you grant Hobby a non-exclusive licence to use the content in connection with the service.
9. Limitation of Liability
Hobby acts as an intermediary platform and is not directly responsible for:
- The quality, safety or execution of activities provided by hosts.
- Injury, loss or accidents that occur during or in connection with an activity.
- Disagreements between users and hosts.
- Temporary unavailability of the platform due to maintenance or technical issues.
Our liability is in any case limited to the amount permitted under Norwegian law for intermediary services.
10. Changes to the Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be notified via email or a message on the platform at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the changes take effect is considered acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Any disputes shall first be attempted resolved amicably between the parties. If this is unsuccessful, the dispute may be brought before the Norwegian Conciliation Board (Forliksrådet) or the ordinary courts in Oslo. For consumers, the rights that follow from mandatory consumer protection legislation always apply.
